Baba Ramdev is wasting everyone's time !

Two comments I read today have surprised me to no extent, and forced me to read more about what's going on.

a) On Twitter, anshu_sunny82 (Anshuman Kumar) wrote in response to my blog post on Ramdev, earlier today: "These articles are based on the premise-Baba will be joining Politics and launch a party.which wont happen.case clsed."

b) And I read on Tehelka, KN Govindacharya saying, "there is no way he will enter political life".

I'm now very confused! 

About a year ago I was in India and the headlines were the Baba Ramdev is into politics. That he is launching Bharat Swabhiman precisely as a political entity. I checked google to make sure I wasn't dreaming, and here is just one of the MANY news reports on the issue:

What's going on? Can someone please enlighten me?

I'd appreciate knowing what's going on. Is he into politics or is he not?

This man as a yogi is of NO interest to me. I "do" some yoga for health, but that's about it. I'm not a fanatic yogi. I have NO time for yogis.

The reason I was paying at least some attention to this yogi is because he seemed to display great courage to take on the big political parties, and to work towards the implementation of his ideas (despite the fact that I don't agree with many of them).

I was even giving him credit for being a smart political strategist!

But what is all this that I'm reading?

Is he just another of those who is wasting people's time? Like Anna Hazare?

The people of India want CHANGE. They want good governance. They want corruption to be removed. That can ONLY be done by joining politics, contesting elections, and taking charge of India's governance. There is no other way.

Even though Baba Ramdev's ideas are very poor and will NOT improve governance, and will NOT reduce corruption, at least he was in the political ring. I respected him for that.

I respect the WORST and MEANEST Indian politician more than the GREATEST Nobel Prize winning intellectual. Whatever good has happened in India has happened because our politicians have at least maintained a semblance of democrarcy and law and order, no matter how incompetent and howsoever corrupt they have been.

And so I at least respected this yogi for putting his money where his mouth is. Not the usual yogi who merely preaches. Here was a man who DID what he asked others to do. 

And now I hear that he has taken the entire country for a ride! A fake declaration of political intent!

I'm disappointed to learn that Baba Ramdev has wasted everyone's time for no rhyme or reason.

Ramdev should ensure that he has repented for partaking of illegitimate money in donation. He is swallowing all without knowing the way money was earned. Has he done a moral audit for all the money he received in donation?? 

I am asking this to Arvind Kejriwal as well. He is liar calling his struggle to be 15 years long though we know,how and when he became known nationally. Ramdev is a coward. He donned women's dressing for escaping arrest.Nonetheless, his call for corruption free India is good, but he should not mix this veg-non-veg debate with his struggle against corruption. He should instead call for boycott of food earned through illegitimate means and this would end all corruption. People would not join feasts where the money used for food is not legitimately earned.

Arvind Kejriwal should ensure that all his cadre should repent for partaking of food earned through illegitimate means. Why does not he promote dashansh giving for the poor and why he is not speaking the usurpation of public spaces such as roads for parking of private cars?? Ramdev should focus on spiritual purification through understanding what is prescribed to number 1 and what is prescribed to be Number 2 money and food. Eating meat has been integral part of societies across the history of human civilization. It has been a luxury and it would remain so. Only when people earn enough, they choose to eat meat,eggs,fish. People suffering from BP do not meat in order to remain alive and free from paralysis of organs.

Aam Aadmi Party's Internal Lokpal  (ombudsman) today exonerated party founding member Mayank Gandhi of corruption charges leveled against him. The party's Lokpal consisting of Admiral L Ramdas and Illina Sen found no force in the complaints made by the unnamed complainant.

Mayank Gandhi was "exonerated" of the following charges

• Following the house collapses in Chira Bazar, a plan for cluster re-development was envisaged by Lok Group with its co-founder ,Shri Lalit Gandhi . To further this goal, he formed a NGO Remaking of Mumbai Federation( ROMF ) with his nephew Shri Mayank Gandhi as the paid Secretary.
• This NGO claimed among its Patrons, lumineries like Justice P N Bhagwati, Sri SriRavishankar, ShriNarayanamurthy( of Infosys fame), Deepak Parekh and others.
• With the strength of these well known names, the NGO conducted various meetings in the Chira Bazar-Kalbadevi area and collected letters of consent in plain paper from the Tenants and Shop Keepers while totally ignoring the Land Lords and other Stake Holders.
• On the strength of the purported letters and the Project report prepared by the Shri Mayank Gandhi led NGO, Lok Group approached the Government for permission for Cluster Redevelopment.It also formed a joint venture company with Unity Developers ( a well known Builder known for close contacts with the Thackeray Family ). Surprisingly, the commercial Venture bore the same name as the NGO, viz Remaking of Mumbai Housing Infrastructure and Finance Limited ( ROMHIF )
• Shri Mayank Gandhi was also incidentally a Director of the promoter company of the Lok Group.
• The Project Report prepared by the NGO ROMF was sold to the Commercial Venture ROMHIF
• By allowing a commercial exploitation of the work done by the NGO, Shri Mayank Gandhi has misused the trust placed on him by the hundreds of Residents of the Chira Bazar Kalbadevi area.

Reacting to this "exoneration", Sarbajit Roy- National Convenor of the India Against Corruption andolan, which party Gandhi was previously associated with, blogged his earthy disapproval.

It has taken 9 months for AAP to clear Mayank Gandhi of corruption charges leveled against him by Viren Shah and others. The baby they delivered is still-born. 8 of those 9 months were spent in desperately searching for 2 persons (in the whole of India) who would exonerate Mayank against the specific charges made against him with reams of evidence. The 2 "scamps" Admiral Ramdas (Retd CoNS) and Illina Sen (wife of Binayak Sen) who let Gandhi off are so excessively close to Aam Aadmi Party co-founder Prashant Bhushan that even the world's thinnest condom would not pass between them.

Attacks on Bengal journalists condemned

The recent attack on a group of television journalists in West Bengal have emerged as a grim reminder that goons in society are now crushing the vibrant media across eastern India.

In a joint statement issued today the Electronic Media Forum Assam (EMFA) and Journalists' Forum Assam (JFA) expressed their serious concern that media persons, specifically television journalists, are becoming more vulnerable to attacks while on duty.

In their joint statement issued today, both EMFA and  JFA have, however,appreciated the West Bengal chief minister  Mamata Banerjee for her quick response to the issue that resulted in the arrest of more than ten persons including the suspected mastermind Shibu Yadav. Mr Yadav, a leader of Ms Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) is accused of attacking three television journalists in Barrackpore Sadar Bazar of North 24 Parganaas district recently, when the media persons went to cover a murder following a clash between two rival factions of the ruling TMC.

The victims including Astik Chattopadhayay of ABP Ananda, Barun Sengupta of 24 Ghanta and Tona Singha Roy of Kolkata TV officially accused Mr Yadav of masterminding the attack on them. Various journalist organizations of the State have already condemned the incident and a rally was also organized by the Press Club Kolkata. The EMFA and  JFA, while extending moral support to the agitating journalist organizations of West Bengal, insisted for a special protection law at the earliest to deal with the attacks on journalists on duty.

The statement is signed by EMFA working president  Paragmoni Aditya, secretary Bimal Ghosh, treasurer Bhaskarjyoti Bhuyan and JFA present Rupam Barua & secretary Nava Thakuria.

West Bengal CM Miss Mamata Banerji's All India Trinamool Congress (AITMC) has taken the lead to form a Third Front of regional parties to form India's Central Government in 2014.

The mecurial TMC leader who was voted in May 2013 as India's most honest politician in an internal poll by members of India Against Corruption, India's largest anti-corruption coalition, being closely followed by the Chief Minister of the neigbouring state of Bihar Mr. Nitish Kumar of the Janata Dal (United) JD(U) made the pronouncement on Thursday.

Already leaders of other political formations are scrambling to prevent Nitish Kumar and Ms. Mamata Banerjee's parties from reaching a pre-poll alliance. JD(U) National Convenor Sharad Yadav, a political lightweight, met yesterday with Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPIM chief trouble-shooter Sitaram Yechury to discuss the fallout of  Ms. Banerjee's call.  The JD(U) is presently part of the NDA, a coalition of Hindu right-wing parties affiliated to the Bharatiya Janta Party BJP which has been out of power at the Centre since 2004.

It is not a question of not having own values or degrading others. It is a question of propriety in public life. You can not be a Yoga Guru and an Ayurvedic practitioner as well as a politician  at the same time.and that too on a borrowed slogans. like Kala Dhan which was the brain child of Sh. L K Advani, with no background information as to the amount or the whereabouts of the kala Dhan. but just a slogan "Bring back the Kala Dhan" as if it is sitting somewhere abroad in a locker of which the government has the key.

It is clearly an attempt at maligning the present ruling outfit. on behalf of the BJP.who extend favours to Baba Ji in return for his services. Do you think it is Ok to form a charitable trust, make profit and yet pay no tax on its profits, taking thr IT Dept to court and losing the case and left with a bill of Rs.58 Crore unpaid tax..

Is it Ok to get prime land in Himachal Pradesh on a ridiculous sum of Rs.1 per year as ground rent. and built an illegal  structure there when the land was donated by Maharajah Patiala and was earmarked for a girl's school. Now baba Ji has been  sued for the return of the land.

 

If you think all this is maligning Baba Ji because we do not have any values then it is your decision.

He 'Degraded Ayurveda Chawanprash – one kg of Patanjali Chawanprash cost Rs.200 but contain over 87% Sugar and Amla Powder.' Vitamin C in Amla is lost in processing and storage. 2.  Ramdev Baba paid only a fraction of minimum wages to thousands working for him in polluting conditions. He was charging more than multinationals for substandard products. 2004. 3.  Baba Ramdev  used Arsenic & heavy metals in Arurvedic Drugs that are damaging to human organs. 4.  Baba Ramdev used bones of dead animals like cows as source of Calcium prepared in filthy cauldrons whereas Pharma industry uses sea Shells which are purest form of Calcium. 5.  Baba Ramdev sold Misbranded Substandard Ayrvedic Prescriptions in US market illegally, legally sent consignments were rejected by USFDA. 6.  Baba Ramdev Commercialized YOGA – misled people to believe he can cure Cancer and other ailments. Ø      Baba Ramdev's Factories are copy of AMBANI of Ownership and style – production capacity exceeds India market in many products.
